Update from Texas…

Tom as the Elder with oversight of Worship & Sound, Sianna as the Worship Director and Bradley as the Sound & Media Director went to the Multitracks Worship Conference in Round Rock Texas. There were 750 Worship Leaders there. It was an unbelievable experience!!! Matt Redman, Michael Bethany, local Texas worship team Celebration Music, Bethel from Sacramento and Red Rocks Worship from Colorado led worship. We received so much wisdom to better equip our worship team from a spiritual, technical, sound and musical perspective. And we had such rich and nourishing worship experiences!!! Can you imagine worshiping with 750 people in the audience that all can sing exceptionally well!

We learned practical ways on how to care for our soul and how to win the battle that rages between the devil / the world and God for our heart in 3 life changing sessions with Author John Eldridge. We got a fantastic message from Glenn Packiam, lead pastor and Rock Harbor church in Costa Mesa, Ca. There were breakout sessions on song writing, leadership, how a worship leader and pastor work together and the role / functionality of a music director on stage. We learned about the responsibility of stewarding the theology in our music choices because it sets a biblical direction for almost half of Sunday’s message and is super impactful because the congregation also pick up songs they may listen to throughout the week! And we take that responsibility seriously. We got tons of confirmation that the way our Pastor and our team work together is super healthy (we heard numerous horror stories) and how our music playlists are well balanced and how we are using technology correctly. We also learned how much more we have to grow in our tools and our capabilities!!! Lastly, we just had a flat out great time hanging out together, bouncing ideas around, learning from each other (we were in different breakouts) and most importantly crossed a real Texas BBQ off our bucket list (well it was on mine, lol).

We hope to not only come back next year but take more of our team with us!!! Thank you to the Elders (including and especially Pastor Daniel) - they approved this trip and really desired to invest in and see our worship leaders continue to grow!!!”
